I have heard that using Algaecide in my pool will keep bees away
Many people have found that certain algaecides can keep wasps and bees away from their pools similarly to BeeRepel. Algaecides contain strong surfactants that modify the surface tension of the pool water, preventing bees and wasps from landing. However, algaecides are harsh chemicals regulated by the EPA. These chemicals are designed to kill algae in swimming pools and can be toxic to humans if exposed to them in high concentrations. Most algaecides contain active ingredients like copper sulfate or quaternary ammonium compounds that can irritate the skin, eyes, and respiratory system if people swim in the treated water. It's recommended to wait at least 24-48 hours after applying algaecide before allowing anyone to swim in the pool, to allow the chemicals to sufficiently dissipate. Algaecides can be a great tool for treating algae problems, but if you don't need to use them, why expose yourself to those chemicals? We designed BeeRepel as an environmentally safer option that achieves the same effect without using harsh pesticide chemicals.
