What if Beerepel doesn't seem to be working?
We have many customers who see fantastic results using Beerepel in their pool or pond. However, some customers do not see any results. Beerepel is designed to create a barrier on the surface of the water, making it difficult for bees and wasps to gather water safely. A few factors can disrupt this barrier, reducing Beerepel's effectiveness.
Since Beerepel is a barrier and not a repellent, the goal is to make the pool less accessible to bees and wasps so they eventually go elsewhere for water. This process usually takes about two weeks, with a gradual decrease in bee and wasp visits.
-
Strong Winds: Strong winds can disrupt the Beerepel barrier on the water surface. In windy areas, more frequent reapplication is necessary. A customer in a windy area found that mixing Beerepel with water in a garden sprayer and applying it daily solved their problem. Consistent application will make the pool hard for bees and wasps to use, and they will go elsewhere.
-
pH Levels: If the pool's pH is not balanced between 7.2 and 7.6, Beerepel will degrade much quicker. Hard water can also affect its effectiveness. Customers with properly balanced pools can apply Beerepel as instructed and see excellent results.
-
Water Features: Water fountains or features that disrupt the pool's surface can also disrupt the Beerepel barrier. If Beerepel is not working well, consider turning off these features during the process of removing bees to make Beerepel as effective as possible.
